OREANDA-NEWS. September 06, 2010. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov instructed the Minister of Labour and Social Policy to amend the procedure of subsidy appointment in connection with the optimization of gas tariffs. The Head of the Government said this, while opening the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Mykola Azarov has noted that MPs during an extraordinary session of the Parliament, discussing the Government's measures to improve the social protection of citizens in the optimization of tariffs for housing services, expressed several proposals. The applications of citizens to the government hotline on this issue are also studying carefully.

"I instruct the Minister of Labour and Social Policy to submit for the next meeting of the Government amendments to the procedure of subsidy appointment in order to eliminate the weaknesses that have been revealed for the first month of the program to enhance the social protection for the most vulnerable categories of citizens", emphasised Mykola Azarov.

The Prime Minister said that a new system of subsidies with the beginning of the heating season should work "sharp like a clock".
