Freight One Hauled 8.6 mmt on North Caucasian Railway in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. September 03, 2010. Freight One’s Rostov branch hauled 25% more freight in the first 7 months of 2010 than in the same period of the last year. The company hauled about 1.5 million metric tons in July alone, an increase of 15% compared with July 2009.
Haulage in boxcars increased by 77.5%, in tanks by 49% and mineral cars by 45.6%. This was due to the increased haulage of construction materials, cement, petroleum products and mineral fertilizers in Freight One cars.
To ensure the availability of serviceable rolling stock, the Rostov branch performed capital and depot repairs on 3,000 cars during the period, nearly 20% more than in the first 7 months of 2009.
