This was announced by State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Romania Adrian Radulescu following the results of the meeting in Iasi of the heads of agrarian ministries of Moldova and Romania, with participation of representatives of largest retailers of Romanian market (Metro, Selgros, Carrefour).

According to him, Romania is ready to purchase from Moldova these products that are currently imported from Poland, Egypt and China. He emphasized one of the main problems for Romania was absence of storages for vegetables and fruit. Adrian Radulescu told Romania was interested in import of certain plant products from the third countries, out of EU, particularly, from Moldova, where the glut of fruit-and-vegetable products was registered.

Romania is especially interested in import of Moldavian apples, grapes, onion and garlic. Adrian Radulescu stressed the heads of the Ministries of Agriculture of Moldova and Romania discussed in Iasi the issues, regarding current legislative and financial barriers in trade between the two countries, one of which was the EU member.
