Port of Gdynia BTDG Terminal Conducted Transshipment of 400T Generator
OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2010. During the 32nd and 33rd week last month, Port of Gdynia BTDG Terminal in cooperation with forwarding agent Port Consultants Co.Ltd. successfully arranged at the Polish Quay a. transshipment of a 400 tons generator destined for the Finnish power plant Olkiluoto. All operations were commissioned by Alstom Company.
The transshipment of the generator from the rail platform onto the self-propelled modular transporters ( SPMT) was carried out with the use of the Mobile Hydraulic Overhead Crane with lifting capacity of 725 tones, owned by forwarding agent.
Loading of the generator onto the sea pontoon was conducted on the ramp located at the Southern Pier of the Maritime Bulk Terminal Gdynia.
The Port Consultants stressed that thanks to the excellent co-operation with both the Port of Gdynia Authority, BTDG and MTMG terminals, the whole handling operation, carriage and loading onto the pontoon was carried out without any problems.
