OREANDA-NEWS. August 30, 2010. The traditional ecological and technological expedition “Yamal-2010” has completed.

The expedition brought together specialists of the Center for environmental safety, energy efficiency and labour protection of Gazprom VNIIGAZ and specialists of the Department of R&D support of integrated development of Yamal fields and adjacent offshore areas (Salekhard).

The expedition under the leadership of the head of the Laboratory of environmental support and project expertise of Gazprom VNIIGAZ A.V. Baranov was aimed at the following: assessment of the intensity of man-caused impact on the environment and testing of technologies for rehabilitation and remediation of disturbed polluted lands of HC fields on Yamal peninsula; works on measurement of river flow, setting test sites for river bed evolution, leveling ravines, development of best patterns of waste disposal, measurement of equipment, transport and building engineering noise level.

Results of carried out studies will be the basis for the implementation of the agreements with Gazprom and will allow to reduce negative man-caused impacts on specially vulnerable landscapes of the High North.
