Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg Handled Heavy-Lift Eequipment
OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2010. The employees of the First Stevedoring Company (part of the group of companies “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg”) together with the specialists of PLC “Universal Forwarder” successfully performed operation on handling of heavy-lift equipment for Korean Hyundai plant.
Shaft with the weight over 173 tons, delivered from Khar’kov by railway to the berth Nr. 23 on the territory of the First Stevedoring Company was transported to the place of moorage of the vessel at the berth Nr. 40 by the floating crane “Bogatyr” used for handling of heavy-lifts up to 300 tons.
Then this shaft was loaded on the board of the vessel “Captain Lus”, I-beams were specially installed inside the hold of the vessel in order to distribute weight evenly. After completion of handling operation the vessel departed to Rotterdam for further transportation to the place of destination.
