Belarusian Industrial Output Raised 9.6%

Engineering and metalworking companies’ output increased 10% on the year in the period to 16.298 trillion rubles. The output of fuel companies shrank 23.8% on the year in January-July to 14.753 trillion rubles.
Chemical and petrochemical companies’ production increased 19.4% to 9.431 trillion rubles, and ferrous metallurgy companies’ output increased 11% to 3.164 trillion rubles. Electrical power companies’ output increased 12.2% on the year to 6.09 trillion rubles.
Construction materials companies’ output increased 8.4% on the year to 3.342 trillion rubles, and woodworking and pulp-and-paper companies’ production amounted to 2.289 trillion rubles, up 13.3% on the year in January-July.
Return on sales amounted to 10.2% in January-June 2010, up from 9.5% in January-June 2009.
There were 300 loss-making manufacturers in the period, 14.9% of the total number, with net losses estimated at 398.147 billion rubles, down 33.6%.
