Aeroexpress Company and Moscow Metro Issued Combined Ticket
OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2010. New tickets are already sold in Aeroexpress ticket-offices, and soon they will be available at Moscow metro ticket-offices as well.
Today, on August 25, at the Press Center of RIA Novosti, a press conference took place, attended by the representatives of Moscow metro and Aeroexpress and devoted to developing cooperation between the two companies: the issue of a single ticket for the two modes of transport.
The press conference was attended by: the head of the Moscow Metro Fare Collection Department Vladimir Zhuchkov and the commercial director of Aeroexpress Company Rustam Akiniyazov.
During the conference, the journalists were told about a unique joint product – a travel document for two modes of transport, metro and aeroexpress trains, created using up-to-date technologies of no-contact tickets.
The new travel document is a paper transport smart-card with visual identification number and a microchip inside. In its design the specific elements of both companies’ house styles were used.
The combined ticket for the two modes of transport can be issued in four available combinations:
1 trip by metro + 1 trip by aeroexpress (METRO 1М+1А) -> 340 rubles,
2 trips by metro + 1 trip by aeroexpress (METRO 2М+1А) -> 370 rubles
1 trip by metro + 2 trips by aeroexpress (METRO 1М+2А) -> 640 rubles,
2 trips by metro + 2 trips by aeroexpress (МЕТРО 2М+2А) -> 670 rubles.
The price of the combined ticket depends of the selected tariff plan and varies from 340 to 670 rubles.
New tickets are already on sale. They can be purchased in Aeroexpress ticket-offices situated in the airports of Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo. The possibility is being considered of arranging for the sales of combined tickets in Moscow metro ticket-offices as well.
A combined ticket for the two modes of transport is convenient in use and is valid for 5 days from the date of the purchase. To travel by an aeroexpress train one has to show the ticket to the ticket collector en route, and to enter a metro station one has to put the document to the yellow circle of a validator.
Speaking at the press conference, the Head of the Moscow Metro Fare Collection Department Vladimir Zhuchkov said that "this project is aimed exclusively at providing more convenience for passengers: now everyone who uses aeroexpress trains can enter metro bypassing ticket offices, which is particularly important at railroad metro stations with intense passenger traffic”. “Currently, the possibility is being considered of selling combined tickets in metro ticket-offices too; primarily, at Kievskaya, Belorusskaya and Paveletskaya stations, where our passengers change for an aeroexpress train”, he added.
In his turn, the commercial director of Aeroexpress Company Rustam Akiniyazov underlined that “the essence of intermodal transportation is to ensure that passengers can travel to airports and back with a single ticket for several modes of transport. This service is offered to passengers in largest European capitals. Today, together with our partner Moscow Metro, we are making an important step in developing our service in this direction, using up-to-date technologies of no-contact tickets. I am sure that Aeroexpress and Metro passengers will appreciate the benefits of the new product and will use it actively”.
