OREANDA-NEWS. August 25, 2010. S7 Airlines, the largest domestic airline in Russia, announces renewal of flights to Georgia. The first flight of S7 Airlines after discontinuation of air traffic between Russia and Georgia en route Moscow (Domodedovo Airport) — Tbilisi was operated on the 23rd of August, 2010, reported the press-centre of S7 Airlines.

Renewal of flights to Georgia became possible for S7 Airlines after obtaining a permit from aviation authorities of both countries. S7 Airlines obtained a permit to operate flights under the equal terms with Georgian Airways. In summer 2010 each airlines will operate flights between Moscow and Tbilisi with regularity three times a week.

S7 Airlines flights in Tbilisi will be operated on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the comfortable Airbus A319. Departure from Moscow will be at 10:25 a.m., departure from Tbilisi will be at 2:00 p.m. (local time).

S7 Airlines is the authorized carrier to Georgia en routes from Moscow to Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi. In the event of total renewal of air traffic between the countries, S7 Airlines would like to consider opportunities to start operating flights to Kutaisi and Batumi.

In 2008, before the discontinuation of air traffic with Georgia, S7 Airlines was operating its flights to these places on a regularly basis.
