OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2010. SOLLERS announces the manufacture of its 20,000th Fiat Ducato at the SOLLERS-Elabuga factory. The lucky vehicle turned out to be a white van, exactly like the vehicle which was produced in 2008 which was the first ever automobile to be made at the factory. 

The production of FIAT Ducato was started by SOLLERS in May 2008. In just two years this family of light commercial vehicles has won itself a firm position in the Russian market, pushing out domestic and foreign competitors. The main reason for this is the wide range of models which today amount to 25 different series, and modern assembly based in central Russia and quick reactions to the changing situation on the market, a clearly defined sales system, aggressive marketing, pricing policy, developed dealership network for FIAT Professional, exceeding 100 car yards and service centres in all the main cities and regions of the Russian Federation, including the Far East.

All this has ensured that the FIAT Ducato has a sold position in the key sub-sectors the market niche for LCV. In particular based on the results for the first half year of 2010 the market share for FIAT Ducato already comprises 11.3%. FIAT Ducato is doubtless a market leader among domestic and foreign cars according to sales of full-metal vehicles (35.7% sub-sector), and also is outstripping all foreign vehicles in the categories of passenger combi-vans (13.1% of the market) and mini-buses (11.9% of the market).

The general director for SOLLERS-Elabuga thanked the company’s employees for their supreme discipline and constantly high quality vehicles, which have been maintained from the first day of FIAT Ducato production. He also observed that: “…the results achieved for the sales of the Ducato and the production of the 20,000th vehicle in just two years is just a middle point on the development of the project. This vehicle has huge market potential. This year we will sell in the order of 15,000 Ducatos, and possibly will even reach the next automobile jubilee.”
