OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2010. For the six months of 2010 sales for SOLLERS Group have come to a total of 32,305 automobiles (FIAT, SsangYong, UAZ, ISUZU), which is 29% higher than the same period last year. The company has sold 18,686 UAZ vehicles, which is a growth of 41% on the same period last year. For the half year 8,462 FIAT and FIAT Professional vehicles have been sold, a growth of 8%, and also 4,939 SsangYong off-road vehicles have been sold which is an increase of 33%.
A significant contribution to the general growth in sales has been made by the Government Trade-in Programme, which has enabled SOLLERS to increase their sales by 15% over four months. In particular, in the four months the programme has been operating since 8 March 2010, the FIAT dealership centre (light and commercial vehicles), SsangYong and UAZ sold 3,739 vehicles.
From among all the brands represented by SOLLERS UAZ remains the leader. During the programme 2,321 automobiles have been sold by the dealerships to customers, which is 700 more vehicles than during the previous accounting period.
The growth in the number of clients has been noted at the dealerships for FIAT and FIAT Professional, which have sold 1,023 automobiles. The growth in sales has largely been caused by the programme stimulating additional sales in Tatarstan: the regional government together with SOLLERS provides any Russian resident, purchasing a vehicle on the territory of the Republic an additional discount of 40,000 roubles for FIAT Albea sedans and FIAT Doblo Panorama station wagons and 100,000 roubles for the commercial vehicle FIAT Ducato. In this way the total discount for vehicles reaches 90,000 roubles for light models and 150,000 roubles for commercial models. Furthermore at our assembly plant SOLLERS-Naberezhnye Chelny we have restarted production of the FIAT Doblo Panorama and FIAT Albea, in connection with the decreasing deficits in the dealerships.
Purchasers of the Korean SsangYong off-road vehicles also attract interest for the trade-in programme. Dealerships for this brand have sold 252 vehicles over four months.
The government trade-in programme for old vehicles became effective on 8 March 2010.
