Azerbaijan Does not Plan to Write off Debts for Taxes
OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2010. The Azerbaijani government is aware of problem of accumulation of debts for taxes for economic development of the country.
The governmental sources inform at present the government does not plan sharp moves in this area.
“In particular, we do not prepare large scale writing-offs of tax arrears and fines,” the governmental sources informed. Earlier, the government wrote off mutual debts on delivery of power resources, although, tax payments were also charged on them.
“This issue is actually brought to tax arrears of former Azeriqaz CJSC, which was transferred in structure of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). It is possible to expect any decisions in regard to this issue if it is necessary, but total writing-off of tax debts will not take place so that not to generate and stimulate parasitic moods,” the government pointed out.
Debts for taxes exceed considerably written off energy subsidies (AZN 1.7 billion).
