OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2010.  Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) and M2M Telematica announced the first results of the joint pilot project which is aimed at developing GLONASS automated intellectual transport monitoring (ITS) system in Ryazan.

ITS was initiated in the city in 2009. The project helped to enhance regularity of the transport arrival in Ryazan, to reduce fuel expenses, to optimize the work of emergency services, including first aid vehicles. GLONASS high-precise terminals were installed on transport vehicles together with GPRS-devices, which maintain acquisition of the navigation data in the central server.

In addition, governor’s situational navigation center was established in the region to maintain prompt response in emergency situations.
