Moldova to Finance 56 Priority Projects in 2010-2012
OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2010. As it was informed in the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development, this was the decision of the National Coordination Council on regional development, recommended the Government to finance these projects, selected by the regional development councils in the course of competition with submission of 135 project proposals.
According to Minister of Construction and Regional Development Marcel Raducan, the projects are aimed at restoration of infrastructure, development of private sector, especially in villages, protection of environment and promotion of its tourist attractiveness.
They will be financed from the National Regional Development Fund, formed by means of every year allocations from state budget. These allocations account for 1% of approved state budget revenues for the corresponding year. This year about 135 million leis are provided for fund financing. Besides, in 2010 the fund will be replenished with €2 million, provided by Great Britain.
In tote, about 1,2 billion leis are provided for financing of 56 projects in 2010-2012. Vice-Premier, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar appealed to the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development for active participation in implementation of projects in order that the regions felt their positive result faster.
