Ukraine Tries to Build Large Infrastructure Projects
OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2010. Restore or start the construction of a number of major infrastructure facilities, including preparation for the 2012 European Cup, is the important element of economic growth in Ukraine. The Senior Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Andriy Klyuev announced that in the interview to "2000" newspaper.
"Reconstruction of airports, construction of roads and bridges, including in Zaporozhzhya and Kiev has been intensified" - he said. As an example of the first results Andrei Klyuyev named the opening in late August in Chernivtsi the second part of bypass roads and the construction of bypass road in Simferopol, which has unload the city greatly. The Senior Vice Prime Minister also recalled that soon the terminal F at the airport Boryspil will be opened and in September next year – the terminal D.
The Senior Vice Prime Minister noted that in Kiev the node traffic problems resolutions are activated, for example, Moscow square and Zhulyans'ka overpass. According to him, projects to build the metro in Kiev, Kharkov and Donetsk have been advanced.
"In the Crimea, for example, recently the construction of power lines Simferopol-Sevastopol, resulting finally in circular electricity provision to the entire peninsula, has been started. There the construction of new substations, thermal power plants is started. In addition two projects in alternative energy were launched. At the end of August brought the first solar power station in the Crimea will be put into operation. Though it will be a small one - 17 MW - nonetheless, it will be Ukraine's first station of this type. Also on the peninsula will soon have a new wind power" - Andriy Klyuyev said. He noted that after a law on "green tariff" it became possible to create new generating capacity, based on fundamentally new technologies. Senior Vice Prime Minister expressed confidence that in two years the problem of power supply of the peninsula will finally be resolved.
"Put simply, we finally started construction. And, when the country begin to deploy large-scale construction, hence, economic growth is achieved. You know, there is a clear pattern: if the cranes are working in the country, then growth is there, and it will be in the most related industries" - Andriy Klyuyev said.
