Latvia to Take Part in EU-Africa Summit
OREANDA-NEWS. August 23, 2010. Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis met Abdulhafedu Gadduru, Special Envoy of Leader of the Revolution of Libya Muammar al-Gaddafi, who visited Latvia in order to personally invite the Latvian Prime Minister to the EU-Africa Summit on November 29-30 this year in Sirte.
During the 3rd EU-Africa Summit it is planned to approve the second action plan of the EU-Africa strategic partnership for next three years. Summit's discussions will focus on peace and security, achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, food and water safety, climate change and renewable energy, as well as on economic growth, investment and regional economic integration.
The Prime Minister thanked the Libyan leader for the invitation and noted that Latvia is ready to enhance bilateral relations, in particular economic cooperation.
