OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2010. EuroChem’s Lithuanian enterprise, AB Lifosa, completed an investment program to increase feed phosphates production. The newly equipped production line will double feed phosphates production capacity at Lifosa to 150,000 tonnes p.a.

EuroChem invested EUR 15.9m to equip the new feed phosphates production line and to construct a 4000-sq m. warehouse. The European Regional Development Fund provided and additional EUR 3.9m for the project.

Automatic intakes (collectors) for collecting samples of feed phosphate granules and granule analyzers were installed on the production line. Information about the quality of the product is constantly sent to the operator that manages the production process. The enterprise’s logistics system also underwent changes. Similar equipment was also installed in the production warehouse, in the cargo-handling department. Now there are specialized individual ramps for the transportation of feed phosphates by various means, and in various packaging sizes.

The new production facility has efficient dust collection and absorption equipment, ensuring that dust from the manufacturing process is not released into the environment. Employee working conditions have also been improved, with the entire production process now automated.
