Danone and Unimilk Return to Seventh Continent
OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2010. Seventh Continent’s decision to resume milk and dairy product purchases from Unimilk and Danone seems to be prudent: refusal to cooperate with the two largest Russian dairy producers would not have brought any benefits to the retail network.
It was reported on August 19 that the Seventh Continent retail network, which had stopped purchasing milk and dairy products from Unimilk and Danone the week before because of a sharp upturn in prices, had decided to resume cooperation with the companies. The retailer said it had allowed for an actual increase in prices since August 1, up an average 4% and a maximum of 9%, and named its initial decision to stop cooperation with the companies, which had previously announced an intention to merge, unwise.
