OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2010. Yuri Berg, Governor of the Orenburg Region, expressed his gratitude to TNK-BP for its active participation in honoring the best teachers of the Orenburg Region on August 12–13 in the city of Buguruslan. In his opening speech addressed to the residents of the city, Yuri Alexandrovich thanked Alexander Grabovsky, Vice President of TNK-BP and Director of TNK-BP Orenburg, for the assistance in financing the festive events and purchasing cars to encourage the best teachers of ten districts in the Orenburg Region. Education is one of the most important lines of charitable activities of the company in the region, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

Every year TNK-BP allocates considerable funds for children’s homes, boarding schools, and general education schools for purchasing school buses, sports facilities, computers, and office equipment. Apart from that, the company provides its assistance in construction and repair of public schools and other children welfare organizations in the areas where company enterprises carry on their business.

The funds allocated by the oil company were used for purchasing school buses for schools in the Sorochinsk District, overhauling the Furman general education school in the Pervomaisky District, and buying computers for schools of the Ponomarevsky Distict. The regional department of TNK-BP Orenburg for government relations and local authorities reported that approximately 8 mln rubles were allocated by the company this year for support and development of educational institutions in the oil production regions.
