OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2010. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Slauta held a meeting of the Governmental Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations.

The meeting was also attended by the Profile Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Grigory Kaletnik.

Members of the Governmental Committee approved the draft Law of Ukraine "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine", which adoption will allow to eliminate inconsistencies between the Land Code of Ukraine, Law "On Local Self-Government in Ukraine", "On state registration of real rights on immovable property and encumbrances", "On Land hiring" concerning the powers regarding registration of land ownership and land use rights.

Draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "On the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the People's Republic of China signing on cooperation in plant protection and quarantine", which was also adopted at today's meeting was designed to implement agreements reached during bilateral talks at the governmental level to develop mutually beneficial international cooperation in plant quarantine and protection. The implementation of this act will help to expand trade relations between Ukraine and China, cooperation in coordination of government activities on plant quarantine in case of international transport of controlled plant, lowering the risk of mutual importation of organisms harmful to plants and plant products.

The next document, reviewed and supported by the Governmental Committee – draft of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Decision "On approval of the procedure of state registration of genetically modified organisms and sources of feed, feed additives and veterinary products containing such organisms or are made with their use. The document is designed to implement art. 7 of the Law of Ukraine "On the state system of biosafety in creation, testing, transportation and use of genetically modified organisms. " Act adoption will facilitate the standard solution and transparent procedure for state registration of genetically modified organisms and sources of feed, feed additives and veterinary products containing such organisms or fabricated out of them.
