OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2010. Reserve of thermal coal at thermal power stations of Ukraine makes 3,7 million tons. The Minister of Coal Industry Yuri Yashchenko told that at a briefing on the results of the Government session.

The Minister noted that in accordance with planned schedules by October 15, the coal stocks at thermal power plants will amount to 4,5 million tons.

Yuri Yaschenko said that in general during the heating season it is planned to supply to thermal power plants 17.5 million tons of thermal coal. "This year we will provide power stations with 17 million 500 thousand tons. According to the budgeted balance sheet approved by the Government, we have performed these tasks. We have already delivered about 12 million tons, and we will fulfil our obligation" - he stressed. To accomplish this task, the minister said, the industry is increasing production of thermal coal. Yuri Yaschenko noted that in the second quarter compared with the first one this year production of coal has increased by 340 thousand tons.
