OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2010. The Senior Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Andriy Klyuev gave several instructions to prevention and rapid response to fires in Ukraine. Relevant instructions the First Deputy Prime Minister has given today opening the Government session.

Andrei Klyuyev reminded that the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych during a telephone conference on fire danger situation in Ukraine, stressed that "local and central government should not relax, because the situation remains difficult and the discipline needs to be maintained and we have to continue to operate as efficiently and to take quick correct decision".

So, the Senior Vice Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Ministry of Emergencies to take urgent measures to equip 10 helicopters with necessary fire fighting equipment.

Also, according to Andrew Klyuyev, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Industrial Policy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Emergencies for the next Government session are to apply suggestions for utilisation of material values causing fire danger, stored on public enterprise "Luganskiy Patron" and constitute great danger for the region, and to draw attention to other enterprises where manufacturing has the threat of possible emergencies. "We must not allow repetition of the case which had place August 13, this year on Shostkinsky SOE plant "Zirka"- he said.

Andrei Klyuyev reminded MOE, MOF, Kharkiv regional state administration the need to expedite implementation of measures to prevent an accident on the military base A0829 in Lozova, Kharkiv region.

In addition, the Ministry of Transport, Ukrzaliznytsya must be prepared to use firefighters trains for their possible involvement in fighting forest and peat fires.

However, the Senior Vice Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Emergencies to submit proposals for re-equipment of the Hydrometeorological Service, as well as special fire and rescue vehicles and to determine the sources of financing. At the same time, he said, Goskomleshoz is to start the long-term forestation program preparation.

Andrei Klyuyev noted that MOE together with relevant executive authorities within three days should prepare proposals for national award of participants of fire elimination, which were especially notable in difficult situations.

"I also ask to assess the damage caused by fires. If necessary, make proposals on state aid to the families remained homeless"- the Senior Vice Prime Minister summed up.
