RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2010. Over the week of August 9-13, 2010, the RTS Index went down by 4.27% to reach 1,445.37 points (1,509.85 points as of August 6, 2010). Most of the negative impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for ordinary shares of Gazprom (GAZPS) (down 12.62 points) followed by ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH)  (down 11.44 points) and ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBERS) (down 10.90 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, lost 2.23% to reach 9,449.48 points (9,664.52 points as of August 6, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced a decrease of 0.44% closing at 1,764.34 points (1,772.05 points as of August 6, 2010). Last week most of the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a negative trend. The largest decline was reported by the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Oil & Gas Index shedding 5.22%. A significant decrease was also shown by the financial and metals & mining sectors, with the RTS Finances Index going down by 4.51% and the RTS Metals & Mining decreasing by 3.06%. 

The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, added 0.68%.

Last week the US dollar appreciated by 1.98% against the ruble to reach 30.45 rubles per US dollar (29.86 rubles as of August 6, 2010).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of August 9-13, 2010 equaled USD11.97 billion (359.83 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD1,816.03 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD723.81 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD448.01 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD161.30 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 39.30%, 24.32% and 8.76% respectively.

From August 12, 2010 RTS Standard market started trading in investment units of an open-ended mutual investment index fund "Troika Dialog  - RTS Standard" (RSTRS). The fund is managed by IC "Troika Dialog".  For the first week of trading a turnover of RTSTS units reached TOP-10 leaders on RTS Stock market.  The RTSTS trading volume was USD26.97 million.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of OJSC "Volga TGC" (TGKG) that went up by 11.77% to USD0.0795 followed by preferred shares of JSOC Bashneft   (BANEP) – by 4.28% to USD28.1 and ordinary shares of JSC Acron (AKRN) – by 3.51% to reach USD29.5.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of OJSC LSR Group (LSRG) that fell 10.47% to reach USD28.86 followed by preferred shares of Transneft (TRNFP) that lost 7.20% to reach USD1018 and ordinary shares of JSC "Aeroflot" (AFLT) that shed 6.64% to reach USD1.97.
