Freight One Increases Coal Haulage from Stations
OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2010. Freight One is increasing coal haulage from stations of the West Siberian Railway. In July alone, the company hauled more than 7.2 mmt of coal and coke, an increase of 24% over the same period of 2009.
The cars were loaded at Yerunakovo, Leninsk-Kuznetsk-2, Mezhdurechensk, Meret, Terentyevskaya, Kiyzak and other stations.
The supply of coal will be increased in August-October of this year due to the beginning of the heating season. By the end of the year, Freight One’s Novosibirsk branch plans to haul some 85.6 mmt of the solid fuel.
"Coal is our priority freight" says Novosibirsk Branch Director Yevgeny Dolzhenko. "We understand how important it is today to provide rolling stock to coal mining companies and promptly haul away all of their output. We also understand the importance of the tasks that the regional governments assign to the railways. Freight One is doing everything it can to fulfill the shippers’ orders and provide enough cars for loading."
On the West Siberian Railway, Freight One hauled more than 45 mmt of coal in the first seven months of 2010, an increase of 30% over last year, so the company is hopeful that it will able to provide the necessary amount of rolling stock to coal mining companies.
