President Lukashenko Meets with High-Tech Park Director
OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2010. President Alexander Lukashenko met with the director of the Administration of the High Technology Park, Valery Tsepkalo, to receive his report.
In his report, Valery Tsepkalo updated the Head of State on the performance of the High-Tech Park in January-June 2010. The production of software increased by 40 per cent from the same period in the previous year.
According to Valeri Tsepkalo, the Park needs more specialists to work for it, and there is a need to make sure these specialists receive appropriate education and training either at Belarusian universities or at new education institutions. One of such new institutions is the Belarusian-Indian Digital Technology Training Centre in Minsk, which is a part of the High-Tech Park and is slated for opening in October this year; also, there are other companies that will train specialists for the Park.
Valery Tsepkalo has updated the President on the progress in constructing new buildings and facilities in the Park. The Park resident companies are gradually pitching in to this process by making their own financial contributions. The companies have accumulated enough funds by now to be able to invest some money in the building of new research and production facilities. The construction of the High-Tech Park is expected to complete by 2014.
