OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2010. In Moldova sales volume of fixed telephone services in January-June 2010 reduced against the same period of 2009 by 1% - up to 918,4 million leis (USD77 million). As it was informed in the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), particularly, in January-June 2010 against the same period of 2009 the sales volume of Moldtelecom reduced immaterially – by 0,07% - up to 909,5 million leis (USD76,3 million), and sales of alternative operators decreased by more than 51% - up to 8 million leis (USD0,6 million).

As a result, in January-June 2010 the average monthly revenue per 1 user (ARPU) reduced, as compared to the same period of 2009, by 2,9% and made up 133,7 leis (USD11,2). Moldtelecom got the ARPU of 136,2 leis (USD11,4) or by 1,7% less than in January-June 2009, and the alternative operators – of 47,3 leis (USD3,9) or by 56,2% less.

The ANRCETI’s specialists consider the reduction of sales on the fixed telephone service market of Moldova was caused by maturity of this market and by replacement of the fixed telephony by a mobile one.
