OREANDA-NEWS. August 16, 2010. Sibirtelecom Company won the tender for providing services on connection and Internet access to disabled children in Omsk Region. The tender was announced by Omsk State-Financed Regional Information-Analytical Center of Educational System.

Till August 14, 2010, under the federal program “Disabled Children” Sibirtelecom Company will provide Internet access to 35 disabled children for distance learning at home. Due to videoconferencing the children with disabilities will be able to study and communicate with their equals in age at the Internet resources access speed of 512 Kbit/s.

Sibirtelecom OJSC Company has already participated in the implementation of regional programs “Disabled Children” in Irkutsk and Kemerovo regions, the Republics of Khakassia, and Zabaikalski Krai when 50 children with disabilities were connected to the Internet. The Company plans to participate in similar tenders in other regions in the future and to connect over 500 children and teachers from educational institutions to the Internet for distance learning.
