OREANDA-NEWS. August 16, 2010. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, received Igor Makarov, President of ITERA International Group of Companies in the residence of the new international airport of Turkmenbashi, a maritime town, reported the press-centre of ITERA.

The businessman thanked the head of the Turkmen state for a possibility to discuss urgent issues of a long-term fruitful cooperation in a private conversation, and reconfirmed the great interest of his large holding in continuous development of a mutually beneficial partnership with Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan, while enjoying gigantic economic and resource potentials, managed to create a most-favored-nations regime for foreign businesses.

During the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov confirmed readiness of Turkmenistan to continue successful cooperation in diverse areas, including a conventional fuel and energy industry. Given the long-term program for development and modernization of this industry of key importance for the national economy, large prospects for joint work exist.

Igor Makarov, leader of the holding, informed head of state on the progress the projects entrusted to the company have achieved. These projects include construction of social and industrial facilities of a priority importance. The projects are now being implemented in all corners of the country. They particularly include Balkan velayat (province) and Lebap velayat where modern horse sport complexes are being built, as well as Avaza national touristic zone, which is being intensively developed now.

Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov stressed that application of the best international experience that directly helps develop broad international cooperation, is one of priorities of the state policy of Turkmenistan. In that respect, Avaza resort zone being developed on the Caspian Sea shore that opens up new possibilities for improved business partnership on mutually beneficial terms and conditions, serves one of prime examples.

To confirm the desire of his holding company to further efficient cooperation established in recent years, I. Makarov stated that ITERA International Group of Companies shall continue fulfilling its obligations by making adequate contribution into social and economic development and prosperity of Turkmenistan.
