OREANDA-NEWS. August 16, 2010. Opening of Internet Data Center (IDC) of Kazakhtelecom JSC in Shymkent took place. Within the project, which is realised by order of the head of state on development of local Internet services market, today four such centers in Almaty, Astana, Kyzylorda and Atyrau function  in Kazakhstan, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

“IDC – new level of development of Internet services in Kazakhstan, it allows clients feeling themselves in Internet as at home. This is large hermzone for creating content resources. Thanks to development of IDC network, kazakhstan users can create its resources in Internet– sites, portals. Activity of Data Center will promote further formation of kazakhstan segment of Internet network, - noted Anatoliy Bachikalov, commercial director for Information systems direction of Kazakhtelecom JSC noted during the opening ceremony. 

Internet Data Center represents a complex of network and computing equipment, also specialised software. IDC – Centers for data processing, representing wide spectrum of modern infocommunication services and allowing realiably and safely storing large volumes of information.

By words of Nurly Bektursunov, Director General for South Kazakhstan Oblast Telecommunication Direction (OTD), infortization of business and many other services is actively carried out in the region for the last years. Automated control systems are not only in large enterprises, but middle companies as well. At the same time demand for “heavy” multimedia content grows. “However creating of private information infrastructure requires solving some serious problems, from information system concept  work out to releval documents. Hereby  Internet Data concept is actual today” –noted N.Bektursunov.

IDC offers some services for legal entities and individuals: free e-mail; virtual iD Host (placing clients’ web-sites on center’s servers); Сo-location (placing client’s servers); Dedicated (presenting dedicated server, lease of equipment); information protection; system administration; virtual office and others.Besides, it is offered to use feasibilities of Internet Data center for state structures on providing infrastructure for realization within е-government of e-services to people.

Today on base of implemented to industrial exploitation of IDC Kazakhtelecom JSC provides services to over 1270 clients, over 700 of them use hosting services. Owners of Internet resources, included to “Top 20” Kazakhstan sites: Kiwi.kz- Kazakhstan video service, Kazakhstan Portal NUR, Information portal ZAKON.KZ, game portal GAMEWORLD.KZ, Kaztorka.kz, OMEGA.KZ, FLIP.KZ, Rabota.kz and others are amongst clients of Data Centers.

It is planned to start IDC activity in 7 oblast centers of Kazakhstan in the second half of 2010.
