Ukraine Will Fulfill All Commitments with IMF
OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2010. All the talks on possible failure of the Government of Ukraine in commitments enshrined in the Memorandum of the International Monetary Fund are entirely political. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Tyhypko said that, responding reporters’ questions, during a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers.
Sergiy Tigipko is convinced that Ukraine will fulfil all commitments with the International Monetary Fund. According to the official, the investment image of Ukraine depends directly on performing its obligations. "What credibility will the country have, who will want to invest here, even if the state does not perform its obligations? What was signed by the representatives of the State, will be performed up to the last penny"- the Vice Prime Minister said.
At the same time, the Vice-Premier said that the Government will strictly implement its commitments and to subsidize low-income citizens. According to the official, the practice of social levelling, when the State was equally subsiding cheap gas for poor and rich people, undermines the foundations of social justice in society. "Rich are in a position to pay for gas and utilities at market prices, and the state will help the low-income people" - Sergiy Tigipko said.
