OREANDA-NEWS. August 13, 2010. In the first half-year of 2010, OSB import into Russia boosted by 70%, as reported in the Lesprom Network’s analytic study ‘Russian OSB market review’. In the first six months of the year, OSB import growth rates returned to pre-crisis levels, while export prices grew by 16%.

Major OSB suppliers to Russia were Latvia, Canada, Germany and Poland. Their joint share in the first half-year was 84.5% of the total import volume. The largest company supplying OSB to Russia is Bolderaya Ltd (Latvia), which has over 50% of all deliveries. Several other suppliers also have notable market shares, like Glunz (Germany), Kronopol (Poland), Norbord (Canada), Louisiana-Pacific (Canada), Kronospan (Czech Republic and Romania), and Egger (Germany).

Among major Russian OSB importers in the first half-year were East-Trade (Nizhniy Novgorod) and AVS-Logistik (Ryazan), which had jointly 30% of all Russian OSB import.
