Ukraine to Strengthen Control on Grain Market
OREANDA-NEWS. August 12, 2010. The Government initiates the strengthening of state control on the grain market. This was announced by the Senior Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Andriy Klyuev, opening the Government session.
Andriy Klyuyev noted that to date more than 28 million tons of grains are collected and the state should take measures to prevent price increasing in the domestic market for bread: "Today there is every opportunity to purchase high-quality grain to the Agrarian Fund, refresh State Reserve inventories and form regional funds for domestic needs of the country."
However, he said, there is a delay with the purchase of grain of this year harvest for our own needs, irrational use of transient remnants of grain resources, manipulation with prices, indicators of quality.
As the Senior Vice Prime Minister said the wheat for export is documented at low qualitative indicators. That is made depending on the purpose of shadowed operations at customs instead of second-third grade the fifth or sixth grade is documented, or vice versa; the high class wheat is exported as the feed grain, and with the purpose of VAT returning the grain grade is made higher.
