OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2010. As per the request of Kaliha Finance Limited, which holds a 25% stake in Uralkali, the company has held a meeting of its Board of Directors which passed a resolution on the early termination of powers of Uralkali President and CEO Denis Morozov. As of 5 August 2010, the positions of the company’s President and CEO was taken by Pavel Grachev.

Pavel Grachev also appointed Chairman of the Uralkali Management Board, effective 5 August 2010.

"Since joining Uralkali, Denis Morozov has made a significant contribution to the company’s business. In particular, his extensive mining industry and management expertise helped to enhance the company’s management system as well as improve its production and financial results in the first half of 2010. I would like to thank Denis for his strong performance as Uralkali President and CEO.

As resolved by Uralkali’s board, the functions of Uralkali President and CEO will be assumed by Pavel Grachev, starting from 5 August 2010. I would like to wish him well in his new role".

Pavel Grachev was born in 1973 and educated at the Italian University of Trieste and Saint Petersburg State University, graduating in 1998 with a degree in law. 

From 1998 to 2006 Mr. Grachev worked for the Pavia e Ansaldo law firm, where held the post of managing partner of the Moscow office.

In 2006 Mr. Grachev joined Nafta Moskva as Chief Counsel. In 2008 he was appointed Managing Director of Nafta Moskva.

Since 2009 Mr. Grachev has been a member of the board of Polyus Gold and PIK Group, and from 2010 the Chairman of the board of PIK Group.  From 2006 to 2008 Mr. Grachev served on the board of Polymetal.
