OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2010. Pipeline company BTC Co has found a new source of oil for transportation via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline named after Heydar Aliyev.

BP Azerbaijan informs that an agreement on Turkmen oil transportation via BTC was signed this July. BTC Co already has an agreement on transportation of Kazakh oil from Tengiz field as well.

"On 21 July it was achieved a record level of transportation via BTC – 1.057 million bpd,” it was reported.

Pipeline capacity is still 1.2 million bpd.

In the first half of 2010 pumping reached 18 million tons or 136 million barrels, and from 4 June 2006 to 1 July of the year 1,195 tankers shipped from Ceyhan 125.6 million tons (938 million barrels) of oil delivered by the pipeline. The 1,200th tanker with Azeri oil sailed away from the port on 5 July.

In the first half of 2010 capital expenditures on BTC totaled USD 13.4 million against target of USD 69 million for the whole year.
