OREANDA-NEWS. August 10, 2010. Latvia’s largest sawmill Vika Wood Ltd. has started a Euro 13 million reconstruction project, company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network. The development consists of increasing the drying capacity, building a new green sorting plant and changinging the bandsaw.

According to statement, the investment will result in doubling the productivity per hour and increasing the quality of the production. In 2009, Vika Wood produced 274 thousand cubic meters of sawn timber.

The company sells its production in Baltic countries, Europe, Japan, Far East and North Africa. Vika Wood is part of Norvik Timber Industries.
