OREANDA-NEWS. August 09, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) found that "Olimpiiskaya Panorama" CJSC violated Clause 6 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (prohibiting actions (omissions) of market-dominating economic entities that resulted in economically, technologically or otherwise unjustified fixing different prices (tariffs) for the same goods), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The company violated the law by fixing different prices for different buyers for the same tickets for 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, distributing the tickets in the Russian Federation.

FAS Russia initiated antimonopoly proceedings upon a complaint from a citizen about possible violation of the antimonopoly law by "Olimpiiskaya Panorama" CJSC - abusing market dominance when providing the services for sale of tickets to 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

To verify information in the petition, FAS Russia carried out an unscheduled inspection in order to check whether "Olimpiiskaya Panorama" CJSC complied with the antimonopoly law.

On 9th April 2010, based on the outcome of the inspection, FAS Russia initiated a case against "Olimpiiskaya Panorama" CJSC for the signs of violating Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" - setting up to 75% price difference for the tickets to 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver distributed in the Russian Federation.
