OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2010. Baltic Stevedoring Company started the construction of a container terminal in the territory of cargo and passenger vehicle-ferry terminal in the basin № 3 in Baltiysk (the seaport of Kaliningrad), reported the press-centre of Rosmorport.

During the first stage of the reconstruction the additional equipment of hydrotechnical installation leased by Baltic Stevedoring Company from FSUE “Rosmorport” with treated waste water outlet is planned. During the second stage the berth № 1 of cargo and passenger vehicle-ferry terminal is supposed to be reequipped for container reloaders and the construction of new 200 m berth with 10.5 m depth is planned.

According to the project decision the transshipment capacity of the terminal will be 400 thousand TEU per year. The terminal will be able to host container ships up to 160 m long and 26 m width, with maximum 8,5 m draught.

It is planned to finish the construction in 2013.
