Belarus Will Provide Assistance to Russia in Extinguishing Fires
OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2010. Belarus will provide assistance to Russia in extinguishing fires and restoring houses destroyed by them. Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky discussed the issues with Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin in a phone.
The Belarusian head of Government voiced Belarus’ readiness to assist the Russian Federation in emergency management, i.e. forest fires, and restoration of the fire-damaged housing.
Russian PM Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to the Belarusian authorities for the offered assistance.
Despite the fire hazardous situation in the country, Belarus is expected to send 20 fire-extinguishing vehicles and two helicopters to Russia, according to the press service. Belarus has a rich experience in housing construction in rural areas and has tried-and-tested projects of standard houses. Given the difficult situation in Russia, Belarus is ready to put its rural construction programs on halt and provide maximum assistance to Russia and build necessary amount of houses on a turn-key basis before the cold weather sets in. Belarusian specialists will get down to the construction of a hundred of such houses soon. Their number can be increased if needed.
