OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2010. President Viktor Yanukovych held a meeting with Cherkasy Regional Administration Chairman Serhiy Tulub.

At the meeting the Cherkasy regional governor has informed the President of Ukraine on social and economic situation in the region. Particular attention was dedicated to collection of this year’s harvest and economy of the region.

According to Serhiy Tulub, in the second quarter of 2010 the growth in industrial production in the region amounted to 15.5%. The local authorities have conducted analysis of the situation and are working on improving it.

Serhiy Tulub also said that the local government managed to increase tax revenues to state and local budgets 1.46 times.

Speaking about this year's harvest, Serhiy Tulub informed Viktor Yanukovych that 90% of the field area has been worked. The average yield was 31.7 metric centners per hectare.

According to the regional governor, 900 tons of wheat was collected, as of now, 70% of which is 2nd 3rd grade grain. "Overall, today we already have 1 million 450 thousand tons of grain", said Serhiy Tulub.
