OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2010. In January-June 2010 in Moldova 880 apartments with total area of 107,5 thousand square meters or by 49,3% less than in the same period of 2009 were put in operation. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the construction of housing was carried out mainly by economic agents of the private sector - 87% of the total housing put into operation.

In January-June 2010, at the expense of own funds of population, 561 apartments with total area of 78,9 thousand square meters or by 28,5% less than in the same period of 2009 were put into operation in the country.

It is 73,4% of the total volume of housing put into operation in first six months of 2010. The largest share of housing put into operation in the cities – 678 apartments with total area of 88,3 thousand square meters or 77,5% of the total volume of housing. It is only 44,9% of the level for January-June 2010.

The largest volume of housing put into operation was registered in Chisinau - 554 apartments with total area of 71,4 square meters or 66,4% of the total area of housing put into operation in 2009. This index is by 54,7 pp lower than indices for January-June 2009.
