OREANDA-NEWS. August 3, 2010. COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (JSC COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading supplier of integrated telecommunication solutions in Russia and the CIS, announces that Yevgeny Lapshin has been appointed Director General of TenzorTelecom LLC, a subsidiary of CJSC COMSTAR-Regions in the city of Yaroslavl.

Yevgeny Lapshin will share this position with his main place of work. He is the Director of the central branch of CJSC COMSTAR-Regions (100% subsidiary of JSC COMSTAR-UTS). Yevgeny Lapshin will provide general management of the company, be in charge of business development in Yaroslavl and integration of TenzorTelecom with CJSC COMSTAR-Regions.

Earlier in Q1 2010, COMSTAR-Regions acquired TenzorTelecom, broadband Internet access and phone communication service provider of Yaroslavl. The deal value was 220 million rubles.

Viktor Koresh, JSC COMSTAR-UTS Vice-President for Regional Development and Director General of CJSC COMSTAR-Regions, gave the following comments to this appointment: “For us to ensure dynamic development of our business in Yaroslavl, increase the company presence on the market, enhance service and customer care quality, our subsidiary has to adopt high standards of COMSTAR. It is this type of challenges that Yevgeny Lapshin is confronted with. We also plan to make investments into telecom infrastructure development and extension of the service range provided in Yaroslavl,” Mr. Koresh added.

Yevgeny Lapshin was born in 1973 in Moscow. Yevgeny Lapshin started his career in the telecommunications industry in 1999. He worked as a satellite communications engineer in CJSC Insatcom. Since 2002 up to now, Yevgeny Lapshin has worked in COMSTAR-UTS Group of companies, where he has made a long way from a project manager, director of the business management department of CJSC COMSTAR-Regions to deputy director general – director of the company central branch.
