OREANDA-NEWS. August 3, 2010. Alexey Nichiporenko has been appointed as first deputy general director of Rostelecom.

He will be in charge of day-to-day management, technical operating management and planning for the development of the Company’s telecom network, the use of information technology services, and also business development on the basis of wireless technology.

One of the key areas of Alexey Nichiporenko’s activities in his new position will be to roll out and commission the company’s 4G telecom networks.

Alexey Nichiporenko was born on February 14, 1966 in the town of Kranoe Selo in the Leningrad region. In 1988 he graduated from the S.O. Makarov Leningrad Higher Vocational School of Naval Engineering with a major in Radio Technology, and in 1999 from the Saint Petersburg International Management Institute with a major in Management.

From 1994 until 2000 he worked at ZAO North-Western GSM (currently the northwestern branch of OAO MegaFon), where he subsequently held the positions of an expert in the feasibility study group, head of the BTS sector, deputy technical director/head of the business development group and head of business development.  From 2000 until 2001 he was division head for the regional development of Telecominvest.  From 2001 until 2002 he held the position of general director of ZAO Sonic Duo.

In November 2002 he was appointed deputy general director for technology and development and in October 2004 he was named first deputy general director of MageFon.  In September 2008 he was appointed first deputy general director for international business.

Since July 2009 he has been advisor to the general director of Svyazinvest.

In July 2010 Alexey Nichiporenko was appointed first deputy general director of Rostelcom.
