Kazakhstan PM: Export Duties on Oil to Reflect Prices for Commodities
OREANDA-NEWS. August 03, 2010. “Export customs duty on oil and petroleum products will depend on global prices for commodities. In case prices go down, customs duty will also be decreased and vice versa”, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov told a briefing in Astana.
Kazakhstan ’s Government adopted a resolution to introduce customs duty on crude oil and petroleum products: USD 99.71 per ton of light oil; USD 66.47 per ton of heavy oil; and USD 20 per ton o crude.
The new duty will apply to all the oil exporters except those whose product sharing agreements contain tax stability clause.
