Ukraine Plans to Resume Electricity Export to Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. August 02, 2010. The Cabinet of Minister of Ukraine permitted to export electricity to Moldova at the wholesale market price without regard to the volumes of subsidies for indemnities related to electricity supply as per regulated tariff.
According to The Ukrainian mass media, the Cabinet charged the SE Energorynok to ensure the conclusion of agreements for sale and purchase of electricity at the wholesale market for its further export to Moldova with power suppliers.
By means of subsidy certificates the industry will compensate the difference between the economically grounded and real electricity tariffs for population. The Ukrainian electricity can’t be exported at the prices lower than the wholesale electricity market prices. Currently, Moldova is purchasing electricity only from Moldavskaya GRES, situated in the Transnistrian region and belonging to the Russian company RAO UES-Russia.
