OREANDA-NEWS. August 02, 2010. “Unibank” is planning to increase the number of the plastic cards more than twofold reaching the quantity of 100.000. Presently the number of the cards emitted by the Bank makes about 48.000. Concurrently “Unibank” has scheduled till the end of the year to extend the ATM and POS net increasing their quantity up to 90 and 1000, accordingly. Today the bank has 69 ATMs and 483 POS-machines, reported the press-centre of Unibank.

“We always paid significant importance to the development of this direction. It was included not only in the bank’s policy of attracting the most potential number of clients, we also always aimed at developing technologically interesting card programs.

That is to offer a product with options which wil be interesting and convenient for clients, says Mesrop Hakobyan, the card business director. – In my opinion, the main point of the banking business of the 21st century will be consumer credits, including loans on cards. By means of credit cards we have formed the portfolio of 2.8 milliard AMD, which has increased by 850 million AMD since the beginning of the year. It is significant that only in May-June 90% of the cards emitted by the banks were credit cards.
