ROSNO Pays RUB13,7 mln Under Municipal Housing Insurance Program
OREANDA-NEWS. August 02, 2010. Pursuant to the preferential housing insurance program implemented jointly with the Government of Moscow, ROSNO provides insurance coverage in Moscow’s Eastern Administrative Okrug. In the first six months of 2010, the company settled 794 insured accidents (a 7% increase against the same period of 2009), reported the press-centre of ROSNO.
"Over 90% of all insured accidents are floods caused by breakdowns in water supply, sewage and heating system", says Mr. Vladimir Lomakin, head of the Municipal Housing Insurance Department of OJSC IC ROSNO. "However, the highest relative weight of insurance compensations in the aggregate volume of losses, indeed, belongs to fires and consequences thereof. In 2010, ROSNO processed and settled 39 fire loss proofs, paying its clients 1.5 mln. roubles (as compared to 41 fires and 1.7 mln. roubles of insurance compensations in the first half of 2009)".
The largest insurance compensation paid to insurant in the first half of 2010 for the losses inflicted to the insured residential premise as a result of fire equalled 187,675 roubles (versus 237,820 roubles paid as the largest insurance compensation in 2009).
The aggregate amount of insurance compensations (including the financial participation of the Government of Moscow1) paid in the first six months of 2010 equalled 19,653,785 roubles (plus 7% as compared to the first half of 2009).
IC ROSNO has been implementing the housing insurance program in Moscow since 2001, and the program for insurance of general property in apartment blocks — since 2004. The company has insured over 190 thousand apartments and over 200 houses.
1 Under the housing insurance program implemented in Moscow, ROSNO compensates 70% of the damage, and the remaining 30% are reimbursed by the Moscow Government (in case of an annual contract, another option is offered in addition to the standard scheme: the insured value of housing is increased so that ROSNO’s share rises to 80%, with the share of the Moscow Government being reduced to 20%).
