OREANDA-NEWS. July 30, 2010. Krupskaya Confectionary Factory presented Petrozavodsk citizens with the “Chocolate ensemble under the open sky”

Two unique sculptures made of chocolate appeared in Petrozavodsk at Lenina prospect 38: one was the Griffin with the weight of about 500 kg, and another – Kizhi Ensemble with the weight of 200 kg.

In order to create the sculpture of a well-known Karelian brand a duet of almost magic professional sculptures-confectionaries spent not more than 3 hours. Huge plates were first of all cut with the saw, then connected to each other with the help of melted chocolate, and only after almost jewelry work was started on carving of the smallest details. Sculptors are working in gloves, because afterwards all their masterpieces will be eaten by the audience.

All those who visited this event were fighting against the temptation to eat the sculptures during the whole process of their creation. Chocolate Kizhi Church with the weight of 200 was sent as a present to the Kizhi museum, and over 10 chocolate blocks were presented to the young children from the art studio “Kizhskaya palitra”. As to the Griffin it was honestly shared among those who saw its creation.
