OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2010. A contract was signed during the press conference of D.S. Kiva, President – General Designer, at Farnborough-2010 Air Show with Ilyushin Finance Co, a Russian leasing company, for the delivery of 20 Аn-158 airplanes with 10 firm orders and 10 options. According to A.I. Rubtsov, IFC General Director, “the Аn-158 has good prospects. Today we already have a contract for 10 airplanes of this type, and we are planning to bring this number to 60 by the end of the year. As for its predecessor, the Аn-148, it is, owing to its design, suited in the best possible way for operations in Russia and not only there. The number of orders for this airplane today is 130”.

According to General Designer Mr. D.S. Kiva “IFC is ANTONOV’s prime partner in the market promotion of the Аn-148 and the Аn-158. And today we have signed our first contract with the company for delivery of the Аn-158. This is a very important event for all participants of the program”.

The Аn-158 was demonstrated to aeronautical public for the first time at Farnborough-2010. The airplane takes part in the demonstration flights program and is on show at static display area attracting lively interest of the Air Show participants and visitors.
