OREANDA-NEWS. July 26, 2010. SOCAR management met with the delegation headed by Mr. Paolo Scaroni, CEO of Italian Eni Company at the Head Office of the Company. The delegation was comprised of other officials including Leonardo Bellodi, Daniele De Giovanni, Ernesto Ferlengi and Erika Mandraffino. By greeting the guests, SOCAR Vice-president on Investment and Marketing Mr. Elshad Nasirov pointed out that recent relationships between Azerbaijan and Italy contribute to the development of intergovernmental relations.

He emphasized successful operation of “Saipem” Company in Azerbaijan and efficient cooperation with SOCAR. Last month the delegation head by Vice-president of Eni Company Mr. Daniele De Giovanni visited SOCAR, and the two companies had discussion on interested issues. SOCAR representatives expressed their assurance that the meeting with CEO of Eni Corporation Mr. Paolo Scaroni and other officials of the Company will contribute to the development of mutual relations as well.

They mentioned that as the result of works carried out within “Shahdeniz”, “Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli” projects and at the fields independently operated by SOCAR, oil and gas production in the country has reached the highest level. Besides, the guests were broadly informed on export oil and gas pipeline system and its successful operation in the country. The meeting covered possible cooperation opportunities between SOCAR and Eni Corporation on oil and gas operations carried out in the Caspian Sea.
