OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2010. The Board of Directors of Rostelecom has adopted a decision to appoint First Deputy General Director of Svyazinvest as the General Director of Rostelecom.  He will replace Alton Kolpakov in this position.

Alexander Yurevich Provotorov was born in Moscow on November 7, 1974.

In 1996 he graduated from the law department of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

From 2001 to 2003 he was head of the legal department and a member of the Management Board of Gazprom-Media.  In 2003 he was appointed as Vice-President of the investment department of Sputnik Group.  From 2005-2009 he was General Director of Marshal Capital.  In 2009 he was named First Deputy General Director of Svyazinvest. 

According to the Board of Directors, the main challenge currently facing the company is to move ahead steadfastly with all integration procedures and set up the organizational structure of the merged Rostelecom. 

The appointment to this position of Alexander Provotorov as General Director, who, in his capacity at Svyazinvest, was in charge of crafting the strategy of the merged company, developing the organizational structure and business integration of the holding’s companies, is intended to add greater momentum to these processes.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company Evgeny Yurchenko expressed his deep gratitude to Anton Kolpakov for his immense efforts in this position.  Mr. Yurchenko said that “under the leadership of Anton Kolpakov the company managed to lay solid foundations for business expansion into the value-added services segment”.

Mr. Kolpakov has been invited to stay on at the merged company.
